Re-Certificate Course Factsheet

Established Offshore Medics with current, in-date Certificates are required to complete the Re-certificate course every 3 years

A flexible, structured and comprehensive programme with full tutor support allowing participants to learn at their own pace during the distance learning components

 

Distance learning element contains:

Þ 20 medical units prepared in user-friendly formats with self-assessment questions

 

Þ Medical subjects include Head Injuries, Abdominal & Genito-Urinary Trauma, Substance Abuse, Disaster Planning and Triage

 

Þ 3 Assignments to be marked by the Tutor to ensure that the written material has been fully understood and that maximum benefit will be obtained from the practical skills sessions

 

Þ Accompanying DVD demonstrating a Clinical Examination, the Casualty Handling and Transportation of Patients and the Joints and Skeletal System

 

Þ Full tutor support by telephone, fax or e-mail

 

Þ Reference Material including The Offshore Installations & Pipeline Works (First Aid) Regulations 1989 Approved Code of Practice entitled:  Health care and first aid on offshore installations and pipeline works
